USBGate

USBGate

USBGate is a sophisticated piece of tech that prevents computers from being compromised by USB ports and connected peripherals. Simply placing your existing security card on USBGate will unlock your USB ports and allow you to use all connected devices as usual. Removing the card automatically logs all devices out of the USB ports and blocks access. Your computer is thus protected.

USBGate

USBGateUSBGate is a device the size of a small book that connects to your computer. Placing your existing security card on USBGate will activate your keyboard and mouse. When you leave your workstation, simply take your card with you and automatically logout all your peripherals almost immediately.

Unauthorized users cannot connect thumb drivers with Trojan horses or any other malicious software, nor can they try to input your password as all USB peripherals are blocked without the presences of the security card.

USBGate was designed with the behavior of employees in mind. It doesn’t rely on 100% compliance with corporate policies and doesn’t ignore the fact that some employees violate the rules, be it intentionally or unintentionally. USBGate doesn’t change routines related to working with the PC nor does it add any new rules, but it does significantly increased data security.

Use Cases

Securing workstations in open space offices
Securing POS computers used as tills in retail outlets
Regular authorization in secure areas and SCADA systems
Locking down PCs while issuing controlled goods such as firearms, ammunition, medicines, etc.
Monitoring the time employees spend on their PCs

What makes USBGate unique?

Corporate data is most often breached by users not logging out when they leave their desks, like when they go to lunch, or get a coffee, or just run to a networked printer. Besides unknown attackers, colleagues and subordinates can pose a threat, especially if the password to the PC is kept somewhere on the desk.

USBGate is the solution! USBGate logs users out of their computer and locks all peripherals once the individual’s ID card is removed — the same card the employee uses to access the office or pay in the in the firm’s cafeteria.
